- About Me...
- I am an RN, Entrepreneur and Business Coach with a successful home candle business. I am also a Stay at Home Mom to my awesome 8 year old daughter Hannah who we adopted from India in 2002 and our 3 Maltese. I am recently separated from my husband and trying to find my independence.
I am an RN for 20 years since graduating in 1986, working mostly in Obstetrics and the NICU. I am unable to work due to a back injury. Despite several surgeries and subsequent complications I am now disabled..hence the stay at home part...and when I was separated and living alone with my daughter I needed to find a way to support us.
I did a lot of research on the Internet to find legitimate ways to earn income and was led to network marketing.
My first business was as an Independent Marketing Rep for a Inc 500 wellness company. It wasn't the "perfect" fit for me,although I still promote it and use the natural, healthy products. Then I found my gourmet candle business, and I knew this was the perfect fit for me.
So now I have a Gourmet Candle Business from home. I am learning a lot along the way....I knew nothing about business...marketing...websites, etc.(I was an OB and NICU RN for 20 years) so each step I take is an accomplishment for me.During this journey I have started writing and have fallen in love with it, which brings me here. My writing had become a way for me to come to terms with the struggles I have had to face and to celebrate my accomplishments.

I love cooking, but I'm not a baker....I love watching food network and find new recipes to try out on my family...my daughter is a foodie and loves everything I cook.

I can relate to your back injury since mine occurred 1 1/2 years ago and became worse this year. I have advanced degenerative disc disease, four bulging discs (L-2, L-3, L-4, L-5 & S-1) and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the Spring 2008. My orthopedic specialist had me down to only working two days a week at five hours per/day. Eventually, I made the decision to resign from my job in the beauty industry to work for myself at home. I spent many months investigating home businesses. Once I purchased my first Mia Bella candle, I fell in love with the amazing aroma! I joined the company in July and I am enjoying the business. Next weekend will be my first candle show at an Art Festival. I look forward to the exposure this will give my candle business and hope to schedule a few home shows, too.
